The Miami Lakes council honored the town’s Parks and Recreation Department with a proclamation during the July 15 municipal meeting.
“The Town of Miami Lakes obviously takes pride in its parks, our pocket parks, our main parks, you guys are integral to that,” Mayor Josh Dieguez said. He also said the department is responsible for maintaining the tree canopy in town and called them “the team that makes it happen.” Dieguez declared the month of July was Parks and Recreation Month in the Town of Miami Lakes.
Acknowledging the impact the department has on Miami Lakes, Jeremy Bajdaun, director of Parks and Recreation said, “Our job is to really just to keep it growing beautifully.”
