Councilman Alex Sanchez receives Congressional Veteran Commendation

     The office of Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart, R-Doral, presented Miami Lakes Councilman Alex Sanchez with a Congressional Veteran Commendation in November. 

     Sanchez served in the United States Navy until 2007 as a petty officer, second class. He was awarded the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Good Conduct Medal and Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, among other commendations. Sanchez will have an opportunity to be interviewed for the Veterans History Project through the Library of Congress.
