July activities planned for Miami Lakes senior citizens

Miami Lakes Elderly Affairs Committee  (EAC) will host several educational, fun and exciting events for seniors in July.

Lunch Bunch and Bingo – Socialize and make new friends while having fun and enjoying Free nutritious lunches provided by Giardino Gourmet Salads. Two events are scheduled at the Mary Collins Community Center, 15151 N.W. 82 Avenue:

Wednesday, July 11, 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and Wednesday, July 25, 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Seating is limited and reservations are required by contacting www.toml.eventbrite.com. Reservations for July 11 will close on July 10 at 5 p.m., and reservations for July 25 open on July 18 and close on July 24 at 5 p.m.

AARP Back To Work 50+ Workshop – AARP will host a workshop that connects struggling American 50+ with the information, support, training, and employer access they need to regain employment, advance in the workplace, and build financial capability.

The workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, in Town Hall Chambers, 6601 Main Street. Free registration at www.toml.eventbrite.com.

Marlins Games Field Trips – Miami Lakes resident, 65 and older, receive Free transportation and tickets to Thursday Miami Marlins home games. Tickets are sponsored b y Wellmax Medical Center and transportation is hosted by the EAC and The Graham Companies.

The next field trip is set for the Marlins vs. the Washington Nationals on Thursday, July 26 at 7:10 p.m. The bus will depart at 4:30 p.m. from Miami Lakes Optimist Clubhouse, 6411 N.W. 162 Street.

Seating is limited and reservations are required by contacting www.toml.eventbrite.com. Reservations will open on July 19 at 8:30 a.m. and close on July 25 at noon.
