Patrons of the Miami-Dade County Library branch in Miami Lakes will recognize Nancy Matos. She has worked the past 25 years of her three decade career in the library system in town.
On June 4, Matos was among honorees who received Service Awards. Hers was for “30 years of continuous and loyal service,” given at the Board of County Commission Chambers in the Stephen P. Clark Center in Miami.
Working out of the branch in Palm Springs North while the Miami Lakes site is being renovated, Matos serves young readers, leads workshops on teen programming and advises the Teen Library Advisory Board.
A former member of the Miami Lakes Youth Activities Task Force, she lives with her husband and son near town in unincorporated Miami-Dade County.
