The Town of Miami Lakes is giving property owners with active liens a final opportunity to take advantage of a lien reduction.
Property owners with active code enforcement liens can take advantage of the program until Nov. 2.
For a property to be considered, its code violation must first be corrected. Once that is done, owners must then request and submit a completed lien reduction application to the town’s code compliance department no later than Nov. 2 at 11:59 p.m.
Under this temporary reduction schedule, owner-occupied residential properties may qualify for a reduction amount equal to about one day’s fine; non-owner-occupied properties may see a reduction of 75% of the total civil plenty including interest and bank-owned properties may see a reduction of 50% of the total civil penalty interest.
Reduction amounts are subject to applicable town code requirements and review.
Submission of an application does not guarantee approval.
Once the temporary schedule expires, the town’s stricter lien reduction schedule will once again apply.
For questions to request an application contact the Town of Miami Lakes Code Compliance Department at 305-364-6100, email codecompliance@miamilakes-fl.gov or visit Town Hall, 6601 Main St.
