Local elected officials join at kick-off party for former State Senator Rene Garcia's bid for County Commission seat

Miami Lakes Vice Mayor Nelson Rodriguez and Councilmembers Carlos Alvarez and Josh Dieguez joined former State Senator Rene Garcia for his campaign kick-off party for Miami-Dade County Commission at Hialeah Park Racing and Casino.
Garcia filed papers to run for the District 13 seat for next year’s election seeking to replace County Commissioner Esteban Bovo Jr. who is term-limited.
“It was a pleasure joining my colleagues on the Town Council as we celebrated the kick off for the next Commissioner from District 13, former State Senator Rene Garcia,” said Dieguez.
“Senator Garcia was a huge champion for Miami Lakes during his years in the Florida Legislature bringing millions of dollars to our town in that time. I look forward to supporting his candidacy and working closely with him for the betterment of northwest Miami Dade County.”
