Construction is underway for a roadway drainage project in Northwest Miami-Dade, as Miami-Dade County’s Public Works Department is making street improvements for residents traveling to and from the area.

The project is located at N.W. 87 Avenue from N.W. 189 Street to N.W. 197 Terrace.

The work for the project includes the construction and installation of drainage structures, French drains, miscellaneous drainage improvements, grading, sodding and miscellaneous roadway restoration, including construction of concrete curb and gutters and sidewalks.

Construction began on November 10 and is expected to be finished by February 2015.

All efforts are still being made to minimize the impact from the construction activities to area residents, schools, businesses and motorists.

The area will be restored to its original condition immediately upon the completion of the construction activities.

The restoration activities will address any areas impacted by the project, such as grassy areas, sidewalks and other items affected by the construction.
