Main Street Banner Art Winners will be displayed on light poles

The Graham Companies and Main Street Merchants announced the winners of “There’s No Place Like Miami Lakes” Main Street Banner Art Contest.

With other 300 submissions, only 26 pieces could be selected to be showcased on light poles along the several blocks of Main Street. Artwork submissions were judged by over 30 individuals with a selection of the top piece of work based on Elementary, Middle and High School age groups.

The selected top Elementary School submission was from Bob Graham Education Center student Maximo Rodriguez. The top Middle School submission came from Bob Graham Education Center student Estrella Guzman with her artwork titled “Moo Street.” The top High School submission came from Miami Lakes Educational Center student Sophia Nunez with her artwork titled “Long Way Home.”

In addition to Rodriguez, the overall winners from grades K-5 included Christian Aguilar, Alana Alvarez, Gillian Baltar, Diane Bigott, Delilah Coceres, Pablo Cardona, Emily Catalano, Leyla Cobiella, Ellis Gonzalez, Jayke Lorenzo, Xinhe Lu, Jade Morejon, Emelie Rojas and Nicolas Valido.

Other winners besides Guzman in grades 6-8 included Briana Bouza, Abriana Gongi, Fabio Rivas, Joseph Rivera, Isabella Toledo, Jordan Wells and Mia Wolff.

The overall winners besides Nunez for the high school division included Caitlyn Ramirez and Angelo Valle.

The Graham Companies expressed its appreciation to Bob Graham Education Center, Miami Lakes K-8 Center, Miami Lakes Educational Center, and Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic School for supporting the art contest with involvement from their art teachers and students.
