The Mantrap band inspired their audience to dance and sing during their Main Street Live! show on April 17.

The performance, near the circle, was enjoyed by restaurant patrons, shoppers and strollers in the downtown neighborhood.

The show was part of a series of free monthly concerts that the Main Street Merchants, The Graham Companies and the town’s Cultural Affairs and Economic Development committees have presented this year.

At the next show on May 15, DJ, percussionist and world music artist Elich Garcia will perform electronic beats at the circle. Showtime at 6710 Main St. is from 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.

Main Street becomes pedestrian-friendly during the concerts as the street is closed to traffic. There are options at any price to dine alfresco at that end of the street, from restaurants such as Pizza Scene; 1910 Restaurant & Bar; Amazonia Nikkei; Bon Vivant Charcuterie & Gourmet Market; Cold Stone; 107 Taste Asian Cuisine or Francisca Charcoal Chicken & Meats

“It was great,” Felicia Salazar, chair of the Cultural Affairs Committee said about Mantrap’s performance. “There was a great turnout. The band was very successful in engaging the audience in singing and dancing.”

      The musicians kept going, too.

“They played for two straight hours,” Salazar said in an email. “It was epic!!”
