Vice Mayor Manny Cid visited Miami Lakes Middle School in mid-September to meet with Liza DeYarza’s 8th grade class to discuss the Maddens Hammock site, the archaeological artifacts discovered in that area, and the importance of preserving and displaying historical artifacts.
“It is important for all of you to understand that government affects everyone’s lives, and that it is very easy to be involved in your community’s government. You have a responsibility to stay active in your community,” Cid told the students.
Historical artifacts excavated at Madden’s Hammock will be available for viewing soon at Town Hall.
