The first ever charity Mayor’s Annual Basketball Classic Cup has been announced by Miami Lakes Mayor Manny Cid and City of Doral Mayor Juan Carlos Bermudez.

The game will feature the two municipalities, Miami Lakes and Doral, playing at Doral Legacy Park, 11400 N.W. 82 Street, from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 5.

All proceeds from the game will be divided between the two cities with Miami Lakes donating its proceeds to the newly formed Special Needs Advisory Committee, and Doral making its contribution to Doral Parks  Police for Kids Foundation.

“I am very excited to be coming together with my Doral family to play a friendly, yet competitive game against my good friend, Mayor Manny Cid, and his Miami Lakes team. This event will be a fun, family event to benefit two important organizations that greatly give back to our communities,” Bermudez said.

Cid said he was excited to co-host the game. “Miami Lakes and Doral have a close bond. Both cities incorporated around the same time and we now will be competing for a good cause. Basketball is a good team sport and will be a great way to showcase the importance of teamwork to success in municipal governance,” Cid noted.

Tickets are being sold for $6.22 ($5 plus $1.22 Eventbrite fee) online at www.Bit.Ly/MLVsDoral.
