Miami Lakes students from K-12 can test their chess skills with Mayor Manny Cid and council members during the Mayor’s Chess Challenge .
The event is scheduled at 10 a.m., Saturday, October 27, at Miami Lakes Town Hall, 6601 Main Street.
The Mayor’s Chess Challenge promotes the numerous educational benefits of youth chess playing in the town including analytical thinking skills, strategy, concentration and commitment.
The event, which is sponsored by Vicky Bakery and Sweetz, also features entertainment, food and a raffle.
