Miami Lakes Food and Wine Fest nears sellout for March 3 event

Community Tuesday, February 27, 2018

Town of Miami Lakes’ first annual Food and Wine Festival has enjoyed overwhelming acceptance by residents and sponsors for the event scheduled from 5 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, at Miami Lakes Optimist Park and Marina.

The festival will showcase something for every gourmand. Attendees can sip and savor for a great cause as all proceeds from ticket sales, sponsorships and donations will go to the Miami Lakes Town Foundation, Inc. which was established for charitable and educational purposes in the Town.

The Foundation was created, in part, to encourage continuing education of community members and foster such programs as the Imagination Library. It also helps to conduct and develop youth projects, beautification projects and cultural events.

Local business Miami Lakes Auto Mall has supported the event by becoming the main title sponsor while Specialized Investigations,  Smack Tactical and Palmetto General Hospital are also contributing with sponsorships.

Renowned restaurants and chefs from Miami Lakes and surrounding areas will be participating with their best presentations of food, wine and specialty beer. Gourmet food tastings will feature contributions by Anacapri, Ben & Jerrys, Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza, CanCun, Dr. Limon, El Novillo, Gaucho’s Gourmet Market, Italy Today, Mayor’s Cafe, Miller’s Ale House, NQC, Trattoria Pampered Chef, Salsa Fiesta, Frosty’s Lab, Vicky Bakery, Mixto, Boss Burger & Brew, Shula’s 2 and more.

A few General Admission tickets are still available at $30. The popular VIP tickets were sold out earlier this month. Event organizers are expecting nearly 1,000 visitors and hope to make this an annual event.
