The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States has awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the Town of Miami Lakes for its comprehensive annual financial report for fiscal year 2012-2013.
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government, its staff and management.
During the 2013 fiscal year, Miami Lakes received several awards and acknowledgments. The Town was honored as an All-America City Finalist, named a Tree City USA for the seventh consecutive year, was recognized as a Playful City USA for the fifth consecutive year, and was named one of the “100 Best Communities for Youth People” by America’s Promise Alliance.
