The Miami Lakes Town Foundation is accepting applications for grants.
Community groups, school clubs or teams, educators and other organizations are welcome to apply for money for projects that encourage literacy, continuing education; developing and implementing youth programs; beautification projects and cultural events, the town said.
Applications will be accepted until Sept. 30.
Winners will be announced on Oct. 9 and checks will be given out that month.
Proceeds from the Miami Lakes Food & Wine Festival fund the grants; this year’s event raised $40,000.
In 2023, the festival raised $32,500, with $9,200 funding eight grants.
