Town of Miami Lakes’ Transportation Planner Michelle Gonzalez will be the keynote speaker for the Miami Lakes Chamber of Commerce luncheon meeting on Wednesday, May 10, at Shula’s Hotel, 6842 Main Street. Networking begins at 11:30 followed by lunch at noon.
Gonzalez started her career with FDOT as a planning intern in 2014. She quickly progressed with FDOT working as an in-house consultant Planning Specialist through CH Perez and Associates Consulting Engineers.
These roles provided her with direct transportation planning and leadership experience working as a work plan liaison with various transportation governmental agencies such as FDOT, MPO and MDX.
In her current position, Gonzalez plays a critical role in the planning and development of the Town’s future multi-modal transportation initiatives to enhance mobility as outlined in the Town’s 2025 Strategic Plan.
At the luncheon meeting, Gonzalez will provide a recap of the Town’s Transportation Summit as well as an overview of the Town’s transportation initiatives that have been identified.
Gonzalez is a strong advocate of multi-modal sustainable transportation planning and is currently finalizing her Master’s Degree in Sustainable Transportation from the University of Washington.
