MLEC principal James Parker to be honored as part of State of Town meeting

Miami Lakes Educational Center (MLEC) principal, James V. Parker, who will officially retire in early 2016, has been selected as a recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award, an honor given by the Town of Miami Lakes. Parker was selected as a result of his work with the school which has earned seven consecutive A grades.

Parker will be honored by Miami Lakes following Mayor Michael Pizzi’s State of the Town address on Wednesday, October 21. The event begins with a reception at 6:30 p.m. followed by the address at 7 p.m. at Town Hall, 6601 Main Street, and all Miami Lakes residents are invited to attend.

The reception will be catered by local restaurants including Cancun Grill, Miami Lakes Ale House, Ruby Tuesdays, On the Border and the Ranch House, and will include a wine bar, craft beer samplings and music.

The event is being sponsored by Miami Lakes Auto Mall, Baptist Health South Florida and Waste Management.
