Natural gas feasibility survey to be launched

Community Friday, February 14, 2014

In a follow up from a Town Hall meeting called by Councilmember Nelson Rodriguez in November, Florida City Gas, the local natural gas utility provider, will be conducting a feasibility study to address the possibility of extending the natural gas lines to the west side of Miami Lakes.

Surveys will be mailed to homes that currently do not have access to natural gas lines.

“The goal is to save residents money,” said Rodriguez. “Making our homes more energy efficient, and lowering our utility bills, not to mention the convenience of having a natural gas generator.”

Residents who wish to have a copy of the survey are asked to contact Amy Hugunin at 305-364-6100, ext. 1164, or via email at hugunina@miamilakes-fl.gov. For more information on natural gas or the survey, contact Florida City Gas at 888-248-9427.
