Miami Lakes Neighborhood Improvement Committee is inviting residents, including HOA and COA members, to its quarterly meeting on Thursday, September 20, at 7 p.m. in Town Hall’s Council Chambers.

A special presentation will be given on proposed concepts for the Parks and Open Space Capital Program. Attendees will be asked to provide feedback via a survey and score card.

The program is a $55 million bond referendum proposal to complete the Town’s master plan for parks and green spaces. This would finance the renovation project for Miami Lakes Optimist Park ($5 million); improvements to Royal Oaks Park and the Many Collins Community Center; purchase of Madden’s Hammock, and the Par 3 Golf Course ($7 million) and preserve them as passive parks; $20 million for green space acquisition; and build a Bridge Park ($2.5 million) on the N.W. 154 Street/I-75 overpass to keep the road closed to outside traffic.
