The Optimist Club of Miami Lakes is hosting MLB Pitch, Hit and Run, which is scheduled for 1 p.m., Sunday, March 18 at Miami Lakes Optimist Park, 6411 N.W. 162 Street.
The one-day free event allows boys and girls ages 7-14 to compete in either the baseball division or softball, and the opportunity to advance through four levels of competition including locals, sectionals, team championships and the PHR National Finals during MLB All-Star Week.
The PHR event also includes young players competing at the nearest MLB ballpark such as Marlins Park in Miami.
