Small business owners may apply for county 'Mom and Pop' grants

The Miami-Dade County Mom and Pop Small Business Grant program is accepting applications in District 13, which includes the Town of Miami Lakes.

Up to $2,500 is available for qualified businesses.

Forms may be obtained from Feb. 14 – Feb. 28 from Commissioner Sen. René García’s office:  1490 W. 68th St., Suite 101, Hialeah, FL 33014, or online at www.miamidade.gov/district13.

Completed forms must be hand-delivered in a sealed envelope to the commissioner’s office from March 1 - March 9 at 4 p.m.

Late applications will not be accepted.

Applicants may apply if the business is at least a year old; is a for-profit; has not previously received a Mom and Pop grant and maintains a physical address (can be a firm operating from home). P.O. boxes are not acceptable mailing addresses.

A selection committee may consider special projects.
