The Miami Laker recommends YES on all Charter proposals

The Miami Laker and its owner recommend the following votes on the 10 proposed Town of Miami Lakes Charter amendments contained in the Special Election Mail-In Ballot:

• Representation of the Town – 

• Amending the Citizen’s Bill of Rights to preserve our Natural Resources and Scenic Beauty and for our government to operate Ethically -

• Providing for a Council-Manager Form of Government Rather than a Mayor-Council-Manager Form – 

• Filling a Vacancy in the Mayoral Seat – 

• Providing for the Council, which includes the Mayor and Councilmembers, to Appoint the Town Manager – 

• Selection of Acting Manager by the Council, which includes the Mayor and Councilmembers - 

• Providing for the Council, which includes the Mayor and Councilmembers, to Appoint the Town Attorney – 

• Providing for Four Councilmembers to Call a Special Meeting to ensure Special Call Meetings are important and necessary – 

• Providing for the Election of Mayoral and Council Candidates by Majority Vote to make sure every resident’s vote counts and that the Majority, not the Minority, elect our officials – 

• Deleting Obsolete Provision Concerning Charter Revision Commission Membership –
