Miami Lakes Deputy Town Manager Tony Lopez has received the Credentialed Manager designation from the International City/County Management Association, the town said.
Lopez is one of over 1,300 municipal government managers to earn the credential.
“This status demonstrates Tony’s achievements in his professional as well as his educational pursuits,” Town Manager Edward Pidermann said in an email to employees and elected officials.
Pidermann called Lopez’s accomplishments during his career “incredible.”
Designees must demonstrate leadership, innovation and have earned higher education degrees.
Lopez has 13 years of professional government executive experience; he was appointed deputy town manager in 2018.
Previously he served as chief operating officer and director of community and leisure services.
Lopez was also chosen for the Miami Foundation’s Miami Fellows program and the 2020-2021 Leadership Florida Connect Program.
