Town and Miami Lakes Athletic Club offer boxing therapy

    The Town of Miami Lakes has partnered with Miami Lakes Athletic Club to offer Rock Steady Boxing classes. 

     The program is designed to improve the symptoms of patients with Parkinson’s Disease through a boxing-inspired fitness regimen, town spokeswoman Clarisell De Cardenas said.

     The disease can affect a person’s nervous system, movement and balance. Assessments of participants began Jan. 12 and will continue through the end of the month, the athletic club said.  Classes begin Feb. 2. For more information call 305-820-8025. Art provided by the club.
