The Town of Miami Lakes has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR).
The award is the highest recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represent a significant accomplishment by a government and its management. The honor was awarded to the Town’s Finance Department for preparing the award-winning CAFR.
Miami Lakes has received this award since 2010-. The comprehensive annual financial report has been judged to meet the highest standards of the program including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the comprehensive annual financial report.
The Town Council and administration take pride in continued efforts to increase transparency.
