Town holds events in May to support police

  The Town of Miami Lakes and its Public Safety Committee will hold a series of events in May to recognize law enforcement.

--There will be a Coffee with a Cop gathering on May 7 at BB’s Bakehouse, 6731 Main St., from 8:30 a.m. – 10 a.m. The bakery will provide free coffee and pastries.

--Businesses will be able to show their support for police with two items from the committee: a blue tea light to display, and cards to place near registers for customers that say “Miami Lakes Honors Law Enforcement” that describe how the public can remember fallen police officers.

--The town council will issue a proclamation during its May 14 meeting at Town Hall.

--At night during the month of May, Town Hall will be bathed in blue lights.
