Miami Lakes Mayor Manny Cid posted a FaceBook photo which recognized dozens of resident volunteers who participated in Hurricane Irma cleanup efforts. “They shoveled sand, distributed ice and food, put up shutters for seniors, and how they are helping collect supplies for Puerto Rico,” Cid posted. “These kinds of emergencies bring out the best and worst in society. The folks at Town Hall tonight were the best Miami Lakes has to offer. A special shout out to our volunteer MVP Tony Fernandez. (Shown at the podium). We also honored our staffers who went above and beyond before and after the storm.”
