Miami Lakes will host a refresher course for CERT Certified volunteers from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 17, at Mary Collins Community Center, 15151 N.W. 82 Avenue.
CERT stands for Community Emergency Response Team. The CERT program educates community members about disaster preparedness and trains them for basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, and disaster medical operations.
The refresher course is only available to those who have previously taken the CERT training, seating is limited and registration is required.
