Town issues ‘Call For Artists’ to create Public Art at new Optimist Clubhouse

Community Friday, July 7, 2017

The Town of Miami Lakes and Miami-Dade County Art in n Public Places is calling all artists to design a fun and interactive outdoor public art project for the Town’s newly  renovated Miami Lakes Optimist Park Clubhouse located at 6411 N.W. 162 Street.

The Clubhouse is a state-of-the-art, modern building designed to provide the Town with indoor public recreational space, and serve as a home for the Miami Lakes Optimist Club, a not-for-profit organization that has served the Miami Lakes community since 1968 providing youth sports and enrichment programs such as basketball, baseball and softball, and flag football.

The Town is seeking proposals for artwork that artistically enhances the existing architecture and complement the use and vision of the Clubhouse and surrounding space and park.

Miami Lakes residents are encouraged to apply, but all professional artists residing in Miami-Dade County are eligible.

Interested applicants may apply at www.miamidadepublicart.org/#artists-calls. All submissions must be received at a complete application by midnight on Friday, August 4.
