Two new Senior Programs provided by the Alliance for Aging will star this month at the Roberto Alonso Community Center, 16500 N.W. 87 Avenue.

“Living Healthy” will be held from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesdays beginning March 29. The six-week program teaches participants to stay active and enjoy life. It offers new skills for living with chronic diseases like arthritis, heart disease, cancer, bronchitis, emphysema, asthma, and epilepsy.

Participants will also learn how to manage symptoms, use medication effectively, communicate better about their health with friends and family, and much more.

“Diabetes Self-Management” will be held from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Thursdays beginning March 31. The six-week program is aimed at finding practical ways to deal with diabetes, discover better nutrition and exercise choices, and set goals for improvement in health and life.

Space for these classes is limited and required registration opens March 7. For more information or to register, contact Kristina Labossiere at labossierek@miamilakes-fl.gov, or 305-698-9308.
