Miami Lakes Town Manager Edward Pidermann has joined the governing board of the Greater Miami Expressway Agency.
The Miami-Dade Transportation Organization appointed him to the body on June 27.
Pidermann joins Torey Alston, executive director, and other board members including:
--Stacy L. Miller, District Six secretary for the Florida Department of Transportation, a district that includes Miami Lakes;
--Rodolfo Pages, treasurer of the GMX board and managing director, Caoba Capital Partners;
--Mariana Cancio, GMX board chair and an attorney with her own practice;
--Fatima Perez, vice chair of the GMX board and director, State Government Affairs, Koch Government Affairs, LLC;
--Richard Blanco, Jr., GMX board treasurer and chief technology officer, Internos Group, and
--Stanley Rigaud, vice president of International Economic Development, Miami-Dade Beacon Council.
The Greater Miami Expressway Agency, known as GMX, replaced what was known as MDX, or the Miami Expressway Agency.
GMX oversees toll roads such as the Airport Expressway/State Road 112; the Dolphin Expressway/State Road 836; Gratigny Parkway/State Road 924; the Don Shula Expressway/State Road 874 and the Snapper Creek Expressway/State Road 878.
In a July 1 email to town staff, Pidermann said, “I believe that my participation will greatly enhance our town’s voice, as it relates to Gratigny matters.”
