In recognition of National Public Safety Appreciation Week, Miami Lakes Public Safety Committee will recognize the bravery and exception service of police officers and firefighters during May 16-21.
The committee encourages all residents to join in embracing all public safety providers by participating in some or all of the following ways:
• When you see safety personnel out and about in the community, take a moment to say hello and thank them for their service.
• Take lunch or drop off baked goods at the police and fire stations.
• Write letters of appreciation and drop them off at the police and fire stations.
• Post a message of thanks on social media pages. Use #mlheros and #IHeartMiamiLakes.
• Recognize public safety personnel at the schools and businesses.
• Change personal Facebook icons to the Public Safety Appreciation icon located on the Town of Miami Lakes Facebook page. Tag posts with #IHeartMiamiLakes.
• Send photos of appreciation efforts to post on the Miami Lakes social media pages. Submit pictures to decardenasc@miamilakes-fl.gov.
