Town of Miami Lakes has revamped its current website, www.miamilakes-fl.gov, to make it easier to find information about services and initiatives. The contest of the newly designed website is based on the needs of residents, organized b topic, and provides multiple ways for people to find information in a convenient manner.

The redesign was completed as part of the Town’s Strategic Plan goal to achieve better communication, transparency, and public participation on all issues. The homepage provides quick access to the most popular services such as business and online resources, as well as quick links to hot topics like council meetings and transportation initiatives.

Council meetings, agendas and action items are now prominently displayed and links to this information have been placed directly on the homepage. In addition, notices for Council meetings and workshops will be shared on the Town’s social media pages and pop up reminders on the website.

For residents most interested in the “fun stuff,” the Town also created the microsite www.iheartmiamilakes.com which provides information about where to go, what to see and fun things to do in Miami Lakes.

“I Heart Miami Lakes” was an initiative of Vice Mayor Tony Lama as a campaign intended to encourage residents to take pride in their community. Through the campaign, it was clear residents agreed to get involved and participate in event fostered community engagement and support.

As the Town continues to enhance communications, transparency and community engagement with the redesigned website and newsletter, residents may submit their feedback and thoughts by contacting Community Engagement and Outreach director Nicole Singletary at singletaryn@miamilakes-fl.gov, or by calling 305-512-7132.
