Two Miami Lakes veterans will be honored in Veterans History Project

Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (FL-25) honored six local veterans for their service in the United States Armed Forces. The Congressional Veteran Commendation is a nominations-based program designed to recognize the veterans of Florida’s 25th Congressional District. The honorees, including two from Miami Lakes, will be interviewed and their wartime recollections will be added to the Veterans History Project, sponsored by the Library of Congress. Pictured on the (location) is Sergeant Fernando (Fred) Carlos Senra of the U.S. Army, and on the (location) is Staff Sergeant Richard Lee Wester of the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Air Force. Other veterans included S/S Teela Lynn Brewer of Doral, S/S Erica Lauren Florio of Naples, S/S Guetavo Adolpho Tovar of Doral, and Captain John R. Fulmer III of Naples.
