    The Miami-Dade County Library branch in Miami Lakes is offering virtual and in-person programs.  Space is limited and you must register in advance to receive a link via email.

     If an event is full go online or call the branch to join a waiting list.

Talking is Teaching: Talk, Read, Sing for Toddlers en dos idiomas  In person.  Tues., March 22, 29 and April 5; 11:30 a.m. – noon. Bilingual stories, songs and activities. Ages 18 months - 3.

REV + FLOW Functional Fitness In person. Thurs., March 17, 24, 31 and April 7, 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.  Strengthen and sculpt your muscles with the REV+FLOW fitness method, work on developing strength and balance at home with low impact exercises during this six week series for all fitness levels. Led by a certified fitness instructor.  Ages 19+. 

Florida Licensing on Wheels (FLOW) Friday, April 1, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. A convenient way to renew a driver’s license, get a replacement, change a name or address, get an ID card, renew a vehicle registration or buy a specialty license plate. Ages 18+.

STEM Saturday  Sat., April 2 10:30 a.m. - noon In person. Enjoy a hands-on activity with FIU undergraduate and medical students. Materials provided. Made possible by the Green Family Foundation, Neighborhood Health Education Learning Program. Ages 5 - 15 yrs.

Acrylic Painting for Tweens Tues., April 5 4:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Are you looking for a new way to express yourself? Join art instructor David Sexton for a fun acrylic painting class. All skill levels welcome. Made possible by the Town of Miami Lakes Educational Advisory Board. Ages 8 - 12.

Miami Lakes Young Adult Library Advisory Board  Wed., April 6, 4:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Join our advisory board and earn community service hours. Discuss favorite topics, make the library a better for you and your friends. Submit a volunteer application, photo ID in person. Ages 16 - 19.

Science in the City: Elephant Toothpaste  Sat., April 9 10:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.  Join us for a bubbly science experiment and learn about chemical reactions. Ages 8 - 12.

Sensory Friendly Family Storytime, Sat. April 16, 3 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. Inclusive program includes stories, music, rhymes and movement. Literacy for kids of all abilities. Bring your own comfort items. All ages.

Earth Day Craft:  Paint a birdhouse Tuesday, April 19,  4:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.  Let’s celebrate Earth Day by painting and decorating birdhouses for our feathered friends. Ages 12 - 18.

Spanish Guitar Performance Wed., April 27 4:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.  Guitarist Frank V. performs a variety of classical and flamenco works. All ages.

Take and Make Crafts  Saturday, April 30, all day. Check out some books, and pick up a fun craft kit to create at home. Face mask required, social distancing encouraged. Ages 3 - 9.
