Veterans Park pavilion named for Gary Cardenas

   The Town of Miami Lakes honored Gary Cardenas for his years of service to the community by naming a pavilion for him in Veterans Park.

     Cardenas, a retired U.S. Army sergeant, lives in Palm Springs North. 

     He is a school crossing guard in Miami Lakes and is a supervisor in the program. He volunteers on two town committees: the Veterans Committee and the Mental Health Task Force, and is also Post Commander for American Legion Post 144, which meets at the Mary Collins Community Center.
