Miami Lakes resident Abel Fernandez noted he was misquoted about comments he made at a recent Town Council meeting.

To correct the accounting, Fernandez stated that he had checked all the council members and none of them had taken monies from the miners. Furthermore, Fernandez stated that politicians in Tallahassee had received monies from the mining companies. We want to clarify any misunderstandings that were created.

In the August 17 issue, captions for pictures of Town Council candidates were incorrect. The proper names for two of the candidates are Xiomara Pazos and Carlos Alvarez.

A story reporting the appointment of Roberto Alonso Jr. to the Miami-Dade Planning and Zoning Board contained inaccurate information. Alonso, and his wife, Alexandra, are the owners of Always At Your Side Adult Day Care in Miami Lakes.
