Zonta Club of M. Lakes honors Carol Wyllie with its Community Service Award

The Zonta Club of Miami Lakes has chosen Carol Wyllie, executive vice president of The Graham Companies, as the recipient of its 2013-2014 Community Service Award.Wyllie is no stranger to service in Miami Lakes.

She sits on multiple community development boards and committees, including the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, Miami-Dade Library Advisory Board, The Education Fund, and the Sports Society. Her past services include membership in The Beacon Council, Junior League of Miami, Miami Lakes PTA and the International Women’s Forum.

The award will be presented to Wyllie at a November 21 “Women and Wine Dinner” at Shula’s Hotel on Main Street. In addition to the award presentation, the event will feature wine tastings and pairings, a presentation by a local sommelier, and a presentation on a key focus of Zonta International to end violence against women.

Attendees will have an opportunity to win prizes, and enjoy an evening of piano music and networking with local professional women.Zonta’s Community Service Award is presented to a local women who is making a difference through volunteer service within and outside of the Miami Lakes community.

Each fall members of the club submit nominations from which the award winner is chosen. Past recipients include Dorothy Cook of Miami Lakes for 2012-2013, and Zontians Carmen Elias-Levenson and Betty Meador in 2010 and 2011 respectively.
