Athletic Club’s tennis team medals at USTA Junior tournament

     A tennis team trained and sponsored by the Miami Lakes Athletic Club won the 12 and Under Division of the USTA Junior Circuit: Delray Championships Green Dot on Dec. 2.

     The champs were beginners to the game and improved under the direction of Tennis Coordinator Ricardo Martinez, the Athletic Club said.

     The team is: Allison Vigoa, 10; Alexia Nakhle, 12; Ariadne Velez, 12 and Sofia Martinez, 12. 

     Sofia is from Kendall and the other athletes are from Miami Lakes.

     Allison also won 2nd Place at the USTA Junior Circuit: Delray Championship-Green Dot 10 and Under Division.

     Green Dot refers to the softness of the tennis balls used by this age group.
