The Women’s Breast & Heart Initiative held its 9th Annual B-Fore-Pink Breast Cancer Golf Tournament on Oct. 2.
The event at The Senator Course at Shula’s Golf Club in Miami Lakes drew 68 players and 17 teams.
Despite the restrictions of the pandemic – just one golfer per cart and other social distancing guidelines – play went on.
Sponsors and players who supported the tournament helped raise money for breast cancer awareness programs, education and screenings for women who are at risk, said Andrea Ivory, executive director and founder of the organization.
Play was competitive and two teams – Vigilante Associates and Pacifica Companies – tied for first place. They were followed by Perfect Reception One’s team.
Sponsors included The Graham Companies; Jackson Health System; the Farrah Family; Ivory Construction, Inc.; Almeida Roofing; Ocean Coast
Electrical; Oliva Cigar, Vintage Floors & Interiors and other companies and retailers that sponsored holes and donated raffle prizes.
