Alfredo Dominguez is a 5th grade student at Bob Graham Education Center (BGEC) in Joanne Hunt’s homeroom. He lives with his grandparents and two siblings in Miami Lakes.

Dominguez recently competed in a Junior Olympics competition held at Coral Springs in March. He competed in the aged 10 and under group and swam in the 50-meter butterfly stroke, 100-meter butterfly stroke, the 100-meter freestyle and the 200-meter backstroke. He earned four gold medals and one bronze.

Dominguez swims with the Blue Marlins Swim Team of Hialeah Gardens. He practices every day at 5 a.m. and then again in the afternoons except for Sundays. In his spare time, he reads books about swimming and watches videos about his favorite hobby.

Dominguez began swimming at the age of three and hopes that swimming will gain him a scholarship to a great school like University of Miami. His greatest accomplishment thus far is being named 2017 Swimmer of the Year by the Blue Marlins Swim Team.
