Coach Don Shula and former team members celebrate his 89th birthday

Family, friends and former NFL players recently celebrated the birthday of Miami Dolphins coaching legend Don Shula, who turned 89- years-old on January 4. Shula, the NFL’s winningest head coach with 347 victories, led the Dolphins to back-to-back Super Bowl victories in 1972 and 1973, and the only unbeaten team in NFL history. Shula, a former Miami Lakes resident, retired in 1996 after coaching Miami for 25 years and opened up a chain of Shula’s Steak House and Shula’s Steak 2 restaurants which started in Miami Lakes.
