FIU beach volleyball stars named CCSA Pair of Week

Florida International University beach volleyball standouts Federica Fresca and Margherita Bianchin were named the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) Pair of the Week, the league office announced during its meeting last week.
The recognition comes one day after being named the American Volleyball Coaches Association/Collegebeachvb.com National Pair of the Week. It's the duo's second CCSA honor this season.
The tandem posted a 3-0 record at the Florida State University Invitational, April 5-6, in Tallahassee. Frasca and Bianchin defeated No. 17 Georgia State (21-18, 21-18), No. 3 Florida State (24-22, 21-15) and No. 16 Florida Atlantic (21-13, 21-15).
Frasca and Bianchin have proven to be one of the most dominating pairs in collegiate beach volleyball. The tandem has an impressive 18-4 record on the season, and a 16-3 mark on court one. The duo is currently ranked No. 6 in the nation at number one by Collegebeachvb.com, and are 65-17 all-time as a pair including a spectacular 53-16 on the number one court.
