FIU volleyball standout Margherita Bianchin named to All-South Region Team

Florida International University volleyball standout Margherita Bianchin has been named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association All-South Region team, the organization announced last week.
Bianchin, a senior outside hitter, was named Second Team All-Conference USA and a C-USA All-Tournament selection this season while helping the Panthers to a 19-12 overall record and a 9-5 slate in C-USA play.
FIU advanced to its first-ever C-USA Tournament championship match. Bianchin led the team in kills with 410, with her 3.5 kills-per-set good enough for ninth in Conference USA, while also ranking sixth in C-USA in points-per-set (4.01), 11th in aces (0.29) and 19th in hitting percentage (.270).
Also excelling off the volleyball court, Bianchin was named to the C-USA All-Academic Team, boasting a 3.87 grade-point-average in International Relations.
