Girls' soccer highlights recent high school sports activities

During the regular season, Hialeah Miami Lakes and Miami Springs girls’ soccer teams faced off in two games, with the Golden Hawks sweeping the series with an 8-0 shut out in both games.

The two teams collided again, this time in the District 16-3A semifinal and it was the same results, as the Golden Hawks (17-2-2) prevailed with a victory, sending them to the District final game. 

Also in girls’ soccer, Ransom Everglades (10-4-3) shut out Mater Lakes Academy, 2-0, in their District 15-2A semifinal showdown.

The Raiders avenged their regular season loss to the Bears, who handed them their only shut out.

Mater Lakes finished the season 12-4-5.

In boys’ basketball, Sports Leadership and Management snapped Mater Academy’s (12-4, 9-0) four game winning streak with a 68-67 victory.

The Lions had won eight out of their last 10 games.

This week, they face Pembroke Pines Charter (11-10, 2-1), Westminster Christian (15-6, 4-0) and Chaminade-Madonna (13-3-1, 2-1-1) and Mater Lakes Academy (14-5, 6-0) to close out the regular season.  

For girls’ basketball, Pace (13-5,4-0) won two consecutive games, beating Jackson, 50-39, and Mater Academy Charter, 58-56, to close out the regular season.
