Goleman and American softball teams seek titles

Barbara Goleman High’s softball team finished the regular season with a 19-1 overall record including 10-1 in district competition. The Gators are seeking to take a bite out of their opponents during the postseason.
The Gators’ only loss came at the hands of Miami Springs, a 14-0 defeat in March as the Golden Hawks avenged their 4-3 season opener against Goleman in February.
The two teams are preparing for the district tournament and could face each other in the rubber match for the division championship.
Another local high school team playing in a different district is also looking forward to the playoffs.
American High’s softball team is 12-3, 7-0 in district, as the Patriots are seeking their fifth consecutive district championship.
Hialeah Gardens, North Miami, Hialeah and Krop are standing in American’s way to claim the division title.
