Goleman’s winning streak continues

Barbara Goleman Senior High School’s football team kept its undefeated streak alive with a 48-40 victory over Hialeah-Miami Lakes Senior High School.
The Gators took home The Mayor’s Cup on Oct. 25.
For the first time in school history, the Gators finished the regular season undefeated. They are headed to the postseason after a more than 15-year drought.
Goleman wrestled the cup away from the Trojans. The cross-town rivals brought home the hardware last season by defeating Goleman.
Miami Lakes Mayor Manny Cid celebrated with the team after he presented the trophy.
“The 2019 Mayor’s Cup winners are the Barbara Goleman Gators!” Cid said in a video that appeared on Facebook.
The Gators face Miami
Sunset Senior High School for the Greater Miami Athletic Conference Championship at home, 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, according to MaxPreps.
