Miami Lakes Sports Hall of Fame committee announced its second call for Sports Hall of Fame nominations with a deadline of Friday, April 6.
The Hall of Fame, an initiative of Mayor Manny Cid and supported by the Town Council, is located inside the new Miami Lakes Optimist Park Clubhouse, 6411 N.W. 162 Street.
The inaugural class of inductees included former Miami Dolphins head coach Don Shula, former Dolphins player and broadcaster Jim Mandich, former Major League Baseball player Alex Ochoa, and longtime Miami Lakes Optimist Club member Jack McCall.
The Hall of Fame selection committee is seeking nominations to honor athletes, coaches, community members and teams from Miami Lakes for their outstanding contributions or achievements in sports and who have brought positive recognition to the Town.
