Mike Stern, Head Golf Professional at the Miami Lakes Golf Club, won the 2025 PGA Southern Chapter Associate Player of the Year.

The award is based on tournament play. It recognizes performance and consistency across PGA of America Southern Chapter tournaments, the organization’s website says.

Stern won 627.50 points in six events, outscoring other pros who had played up to nine events and earned fewer points.

“It’s a special honor for me, especially being able to compete while representing the Miami Lakes Golf Club,” Stern said.

The South Florida Section of the PGA of America is an association of golf professionals who promote the game and “establish and maintain professional standards” … as well as “enhance the well-being of golf professionals,” according to the website.

The association has more than 2,000 members and associates at over 485 golf facilities in the South Florida region, which spans Indian River County to Monroe County and west to Lee and Charlotte counties, it said.

As a pro, Stern teaches at the newly renovated Miami Lakes Golf Club.

He is available to teach lessons on weekdays from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. His fee is $150 per hour-long class.
