Hialeah Miami Lakes High softball team defeated district rival North Miami Beach in back-to-back games last week, crushing the Chargers 19-0 in their first meet and claimed victory in the second contest.
The Trojans (9-4, 9-4 in district play), are preparing for the conference tournament championship, which starts next week, but face some tough competition.
The Trojans are seeking vengeance if they face the Goleman Gators, who defeated HML twice in district play, and Jackson, Carol City and Mourning also stand in their way.
HML swept Mourning and Jackson and split two games against Carol City.
The Trojans are led by seniors Thalia Caro, Elliannis Santos and Karina Londono; and juniors Lailah Baez, Sujay Garcia and Carmen Pardo.
The Trojans are ranked No. 172 in the state of Florida.
